Italian Solar Challenge (ISC) is an endurance race that involves two classes of solar vehicles: single occupant ‘challenger’ and multi occupant ‘cruiser’.

About the event ℹ️

This first Italian Solar Challenge is organized with the aim of developing a World Championship including the World Solar Challenge (Australia), the American Solar Challenge, the European solar challenge (Belgium), the United Solar Challenge (Middle East)

Prototypes

The prototypes racing the Italian Solar Challenge are special vehicles with extreme aerodynamic performance supplied by a battery pack and photovoltaic cells  integrated in the bodywork.​

Challenger

  • Solar Power: ≃ 1 kW ​

  • Battery Lithium-Ion Polymer ≃ 5-6 KWh​

  • Weight ≃ 150 Kg​

  • Max Speed: 150 km/h​

  • Occupants: 1​

Cruiser

  • Solar Power: ≃ 1 kW ​

  • Battery Lithium-Ion Polymer ≃ 20-60 KWh​

  • Weight ≃ 350-600 Kg​

  • Max Speed: 100-140 km/h​

  • Occupants: 2-5​
